Key teachings — World unity and justice

The light of  men is Justice. Quench it not with the contrary winds of oppression and tyranny. The purpose of justice is the appearance of unity among men. The ocean of divine wisdom surgeth within this exalted word, while the books of the world cannot contain its inner significance.

The central aim of the Bahá'í Faith is to promote the unity of the human race. However, it is not any kind of unity that the Faith advocates, but a unity that is based on justice.

International institutions based on democratic principles are needed in order to balance the competing interests of different nations and peoples. The United Nations and its agencies represent the beginnings of such international institutions. Their further development is important for the safety and well-being of the world.
